Smt. Bhuri Bai Educational Trust

In the year 1989 sometime in the month of February four sons of contractor Sh. Kalyan Das ji and Smt. Bhuri Bai of Jodhpur came together and discussed about doing self less service to the beloved community in which they were born & grew up so that the needy section of youth of the community may advance in the field of higher technical education. They thought to form a private trust in the memory of their revered mother Smt. Bhuri Bai giving it the name of Smt. Bhuri Bai Educational Trust.
This trust was created primarily to perpetuate the memory of their mother towards furthering philanthropic cause namely the grant of financial assistance to needy scholar belonging to economically weaker section of community in persuit of higher education.

The promotors of this trust were:
1. Shri Tulsi Ram Sharma ,  Retd. District and session Judge ,
               Residing at A-5, Mahaveer Udhyan Path, Bajaj Nagar, Jaipur, Raj.
2. Shri Daulat Ram Sharma , Retd. Post & Telegraph Officer
               Residing at 7 ,Kalyan Bhawan, Ratananda Road, Jodhpur, Raj.
3. Dr. Jagdish Chandra Sharma , Neurologist 
               Residing at Chelms Ford Avenue Spring- Taxas, USA.
4. Shri Rewat Prakash Sharma , Superintending Engineer, PHED, Jaipur,  Raj.
The trust was registered by the Sub Registrar, Jaipur city on 22/02/93.

A trust fund was created in which the promotors and their children are entitled to make contribution according to their prewill. This is totally a private trust and does not accept donation and contribution from other peoples. The trust fund is kept in the SBI ,Bajaj Nagar, Jaipur branch and their earning from investment is utilised on granting scholarship etc.

They started this project by granting scholarship to deserving candidates pursuing higher education. The first year of the scheme 1989-90 in which one student of Bombay doing M.Phil. in Mathematics was granted a scholarship of Rs. 3000/-. In this way every year the scholarship was launched raising scholarship from Rs.300/- PM to Rs. 400/-PM and from 2004-2005 at the Rs. 500/- Per Month. The number of candidates applying for scholarship went of rising year after year. In 2004-05 forty (40) applicants came up for grant of scholarship from  which 14 persons were selected.

Every year the trust issues the advertisement in leading  magazines of the community inviting application from candidates pursuing courses in Medical, Engg., and other Technical and Scientific Streams. Selection is made only on the basis of merit i.e. Marks obtained in the last examination. Selection is made in the month of  Sept. and scholarship granted by the trust is not a dole or charitable grant but is a prestigious reward to the bright youth of the community who exhibit outstanding excellence in the pursuit of higher technical education which the trust considers a golden path towards progress, prosperity and uplift of society. It goes to encourage students to pursue courses with zeal and show the better results at their examinations.

The trust also awards Gold Medals to the students who secure place in the merit list of secondary and higher secondary school examinations.
